Candles- New Passion

As christmas is approaching I thought I would decorate some candles to sell as gifts, I have quite enjoyed decorating them and I'm taking them to work tomorow to see if I can get some orders, (fingers crossed). Last year I made quite a lot of jewellery and handbag charms which sold rather well. I have also made a couple of other things, I enjoy doing decopatch and recently made this mirror too, I'll catch up with my blog soon, just been too busy and not had time.

CHRISTMAS AND A DALEK CARD

Been busy today, decided to have another crack at the crafters companion cute companions cards, they are lovely but I find them quite time consuming as I'm a slow cutter outter, just need to find some odd sized envelopes now. Also is a Dalek card that I was asked to make for John's partner at work, he specifally asked for something with a Dalek on as Neil is Dr Who mad, I'm hoping he likes the one I've made, I put glossy accents on to juzz it up a bit, I made it into an easel card for a change, sorry the pics aren't very good but hey, I'm crap at taking photo's lol. Eeee if I didn't HAVE to go to work I could play all day, my dream would be to work in a crafty environment. I'm hoping to free up another day at work by adding my 3 1/2 stupid shift onto friday, It'll mean working all day friday, but an extra day off. I plan to try and volunteer somewhere to try and get my foot in the door as I really don't fancy doing the job I do for the next 19 years till I retire!

scarf, mum, and other titbits

Upside down blogging again, lol, I always forget which order to do things, never mind. I have since coloured my hair with an ash blonde after seeing a tad yellow on the piccy. Ilove the ash it's much softer, I also discovered I can wear eyeliner now in navy blue, again less harsh, and a smidge of gold eyeshadow. I took a tip from twiggy after noticing on a picture how blue her eyes looked by wearing those colours. Isn't the christmas card gorgeous, it has been made with the 12 days of christmas stamps by clarity, Lynne has done a fabulous job.

Sorry for being awol, last time I tried to blog, I lost it all and didn't get round to re doing it, so here's a mish mash of latest happenings. I went to Doncater with my friend and had a long but enjoyable day, I bumped into the lovely Kirsty wiseman who I make cards for as a design team member, but the last 2 lots I've made, I've forgot to photograph doh!, I just love a good craft fair so much so that I'm off to The CREATIVE STITCH AND CRAFTS SHOW in Manchester at the beginning of september, can't wait, for 2 reasons, I just love september, it's the onset of autumn, my favourite time of year and it's also the craft show! I've snook a piccy in of my mum with simba my dog. I also recieved a gorgeous card on a swap forum that I'm in, its a christmas card swap, isn't it gorgeous. There's also a piccy of me and Kirsty at Doncaster.

I've also started to knit a scarf, it's sooooooooooo easy it's untrue, all you do is weave 8 stitches onto a needle from the woven wool, then continue to knit 8 stitches, it forms ruffles in 3 varigrated colours, it's sooooooo additive and only cost a fiver for the yarn, might get another bundle at Scc.

OOOH FLOWERY DAY!

soz this post is back to front lol, The first flower I made using stamped flowers and cut them out, the other is done with punches at the demo.!

Just watched the lovely Kirsty wiseman doing a live stream, making flowers, gorgeous designs! Today I went to the local craft shop to a demo/make it take day with Melanie Heaton, love melanies designs, they are so fresh and funky, anyhooooo we started off by punching some flowers, 4 different size punches, punched 4 from each of the larger punches and 3 from the smallest, I think they were EK success but any would do, next we made a hole thru all the layers and put a brad in and slightly opened it at the back. We then sprayed the whole lot with water so that they were quite soggy (I was horrified, ) btw we used some gorgeous co-ordinating BO Bunny papers, we then started to lift up each petal and furl it over the centre brad, you squeeze the little bunch as you go, you then end up with what looks like a dumpling! you then unfurl peatl by petal, they now look tatty vintagey, leave to dry and I sprayed mine with crafters companion iredecent spray! I also made a pair of earring that look like fuchia flowers! oh and a little gift box!

Handbags and Bookmarks

The bookmarks were made for me by the lovely LoobyLou, we took part in a swap on craftelly.com she stiched the most beautiful stiches on the back of the one with my name on. The other 2 handbag cards (sorry for the double pic) I made today, the handbag templates are from anita's and the papers are a mix of papermanis and DaisyD's, I'll show them to my mums friend tomorow as she buys cards from me and needs to replenish her supplies, I'm also going to have to make some sympathy cards for her as she has run out, never made any of those before. Well I've been kinda bored today, not a lover of bank holidays, but don't like working on them either! lol

3 new cards

My mums neighbour has asked me to make some cards for her, I made some hunky dory cards for mum, the window to your hearts ones, not my usual, but the older people like them, these 3 are Kanban ones, I've just ordered some more hunky dory for the neighbour.

SADNESS

Last week my darling dad passed away, leaving us totally devasted, it was unexpected and sudden, he was admitted to hospital on the 13th May and passed away on the 17th May, he was 77 years old. The thing that totally messes with your head is the fact that they seem to get better, then tragically they die.

I'm sure I will talk about my dad a lot on here now, as I miss him terribly, he was an HGV driver most of his life and as a fitting tribute, we had his coffin put on a lorry to take him to the crem, it was a beautiful funeral, and a beautiful day.

I went to a very nice workshop at topaz with the very talented Lindsay Mason and made a ranger tecnique mirror, we learnt different tecniques with UTEE, memory glass, mould and pour beeswax and many more things, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wow, been busy lately, I was extremely honoured to be asked by the wonderful Kirsty Wiseman to make card samples for her latest CD, it's absolutley fab, I love it, I was in a bit of a flap, because I wasn't sure if I had any ribbon in the right colour, petty I know, but I managed to deliver and Kirsty was very pleased with them, phew, I can't tell you how excited I was to see them on screen on create and craft, fame at last, lol Here are the cards I made.

The Cards, At Last!

Here are the gorgeous cards I recieved from my friends over on craftelly, some beautiful cards wouldn't you agree

OUT OF THE DARK AND DINGY TUNNEL!!

Ladies, most of you will know where I'm coming from here, when it is the time of the month, you know, about a week before, does your personality take a turn for the worse? I feel like I get possesed by a horrid demon, knots in my stomach, tight chest, could cry at the drop of a hat, or probably rip some one up from limb to limb, how awful is that! I'm going to tey and take some vits an evening primrose/starflower oil, because I lose a good 2 weeks of every month abd then spend the next 2 catching up, when the nice side comes back.
So, today I shall take the pics of my lovely cards from the birthday swap, and post them later, I promise!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Hi Bloggers (if there's anyone there lol), today is my 46th Birthday, don't ya just love birthdays, age is irrelevant to me, I just love the cards, the pressies, feeling special for a day!
I finally got a wii, I got a bit of bonus from work the other week, so with that and some birthday money I bought a wii, which came with the resort and sports plus 5 games, then I bought wii fit and balance board, also got tim holtz tsv from the other week, a gift card for debenhams, gonna buy some clarins foundation with it, flowers, chocs, a cup with a donkey, 2 scratch cards and yes they were winners, only £2 each mind but still winners, and some more cash, so all in all a very good birthday!
I'll take some pics when I get chance as we are going out for tea, I've had a lazy day crafting today, and have made a couple of cards and some atc's again I 'll take piccies later, off for tea now, laters x

UPSETTING END TO CRAFT DAY!

Well, I had my day planned, potter about in the bedroom/craftroom tidy it up, tape qvc and do some crafting, I made a few bits then embarked on the task of going through all my stash, it's amazing what you find that you'd forgot what you had! I'd put baling spuds in oven so tea would be a quick affair.
I ordered the tsv that morning as hubby is buying it for my birthday and guess what, it's been shipped already! I wasn't planning to buy anything else, but the petaloo white flowers looked very alterable, but yep they sold out so I shall have to see them elsewhere, anyway 9pm I put my jammies on and went downstairs leavin crafts recording upstairs, the phone rang, it was my mum's neighbour, she said my mum had a stroke and my dad had an asmha atttack, I was in bits and my son was hearbroken, I rang the hospital but she hadn't arrived, so I got dressed and rang their flat, luckily my dad was ok, apparently mum had gone to bingo in the cimmunity room, and according to her neighbour her arm went funny, her eyes rolled in her head and she passed out, they insisted on ringing paramedics, in the meantime her neighbour went banging on the flat door, where my dad was sleeping in the chair, frightened the shit out of him, he got up trying to put his pants on, fell over and had an asmha attack, so the paramedics had to give him oxygen! I n the meantime mum was taken to hospital, I got there soon after and she was in A and E, she didn't look to good, the nurse said her bp was low and she had kept being sick, also she was freezing but her temp was high, they were sending her for a chest x ray and didn't think she'd had a stroke. Later they put her on an assessment ward, by now she was looking a lot better. She said she didn't have a stroke and that she'd put her arm to her head cos she was hot, and that she'd felt sick, all hell broke loose and the gaggle of women phone 999! The neighbour is a right trouble maker whom I don't like, she rules the sheltered accomodation and is a big stirrer. Although my parents share the flat, they live seperate lives, she has the bedroom as a bedsit and he has the lounge as a bedsit, but the neighbour is always interfering and barking up the wrong tree.
Anyway I left the hospital at around 1.30am, I rang early this morning abd the'yd put mum on a ward, she'd had a chest x ray, but was waiting for a scan because they think her gallbladder is inflamed, it's quite possible because she's been to docs a few times with back pain but they said it was arthritis! They are going to keep her in for a few days because she's a bit dehydrated and her bloods aren't quite right, fingers crossed she's better soon, so that was my eventful craftday, might get to watch the vids soon!

CAN ANYONE RECOMEND A GOOD VERSE CD THAT iI COULD BUY?

I make a card, but then I let myself down because I'm rubbish at verses and not very computer literate, so it has to be something very easy for me to work, all I want is to be able to type a verse maybe a bit of illustration and then print it, wish I knew of a cd rom that could do this, any ideas welcome, ta.
Well I've done bugger all today, woke up at 7.45, watched a bit of c and c read sunday mag, made brekkie, then went back to bed till lunchtime, I was shattered! Just watch, I bet I can't get to sleep tonight now.
Also the much hyped tsv is midnight monday, by the god of ink that is T!m Holtz, I've wanted his book since I first saw it, and the extras that come with tsv look good, just hope I can order it before midnight as I did with the punches cos I'm rubbish at staying up late, then tuesday is all mine, yeah!

TWO MORE SLEEPS YEAH!

There a great buzz on the craft forums at the moment as T!m Holtz has a tsv on monday night at midnight, rumours are that it is his new book and some other stuff to accompany it, I'm well excited as hubby is going to buy it for my birthday in March. I am not working tuesday so tea will be something simple and I'll be locking myself away all day in the bedroom/craftroom, except for when I take the dog out! (for a walk that is, not with an ak 47). I love the stuff t!m produces but to struggle to re enact it, so the book should be good for me, I have plenty of tapes to record with, people laugh that I have a vhs in my room but I like my vhs and vhs I shall darn well use, lol, in fact my aunt is giving me her machine in case mine dies, so that I shall never be without one lol.

MORE BLOODY SNOW!!!

My gorgeous nephew Thomas and sexy pooch Simba!

The last time we had snow my poor dog lost his legs, I'm sooooooo looking forward to spring, I hate winter with avengence. I will not even contemplate driving in the snow and today I;m glad I didn't as there were 4 crashes on the road that I usually take. So I thought I would give my new YAKTRAX a go, wippeee I virtually ran thru the snow and icy bits well worth the tenner I paid. I got a taxi home and then with my boy we set off to town, we went in the car cos the snow had melted, we met my lovely sis in law and gorgeous nephew and went bowling, can you believe a 6 year old beat me, Pah, I lost me mojo!
